Description

The Degree in Civil Engineering and Teaching is a collaborative educational program between KTH (Royal Institute of Technology) and Stockholm University in Sweden. It aims to train civil engineers with advanced communication skills and teachers with sound technical knowledge, thus increasing the attractiveness of engineering education to a wider audience, especially women. In addition, it seeks to improve the quality of school education by preparing high-level teachers in the natural sciences.

This unique five-year program leads to a dual degree in civil engineering and subject teaching. It is highly valued in the job market, as students are prepared to work in both the business and education sectors. Between 60 and 70 students are admitted each year.

Key aspects of the program include:

  • Dual training in civil engineering and teaching, ensuring that students acquire both technical knowledge and pedagogical skills.
  • Interdisciplinary approach with courses at KTH and Stockholm University, combining engineering education with learning theory and subject didactics.
  • Graduates are prepared to contribute to both the engineering and educational sectors, responding to the social demand for professionals with a comprehensive vision that connects technical expertise with teaching.
