The Summer at ULisboa program, launched in 2014 (paused in 2020-21 due to the pandemic), offers high school students hands-on STEM activities aligned with Tech grades. It takes place over two weeks (one per school level) and includes hands-on experiences, workshops, games and visits, providing an insight into engineering and university life. Students work in fixed groups on engineering challenges, guided by student monitors from Técnico. They also interact with faculty and researchers, exploring academic and career pathways in STEM. The program helps students make informed decisions about future studies.
The cost for the full week is 120 €. The program has been a great success, with 25-30% of the 2023/24 Technician degree students having previously participated.
While enrollment is managed centrally, each school oversees local implementation. At Técnico:
