The Argentine Technology Competition (OATec), organized by ITBA, is an initiative that seeks to strengthen the scientific and technological skills of high school students throughout the country. Through challenges that require the application of the scientific method, critical thinking and problem solving, the competition encourages interest in STEM disciplines and promotes the exchange of experiences between students and teachers.
In its eighth edition, the OATec had 1,718 students from 240 schools, accompanied by 405 teachers as tutors. The theme this year was "Technologies in Life Sciences", and participants were evaluated on general knowledge, planning and problem solving, manual ability, economy of effort and expository capacity.
The competition is carried out in two evaluation stages: a first virtual phase and a final on-site phase at ITBA, where the best classified students compete in a real environment. In addition, OATec awards exclusive scholarships for outstanding students to continue their studies at ITBA, reinforcing its commitment to education and technological innovation.
